An overall summary of the common themes I read in the text. I have not read that much but I can look at a topic and some what figure out what it is talking about by the word or words it states. The first chapter is about adjusting to the Culture of College, Setting Your Goals, and Developing Your Academic Passion. The way I describe my culture of college, is when I first got here there were a lot of things that could have been for the good and for the bad. Chapter two is about Persist. In this chapter you learn Managing Your College Resources, Your money, and Your Debt. When you are first getting into college it seems harder to manage your money cause you are use to just having your parents give you money when ever you need it, and now being in college and out of state they are not always there when you need that five dollars or what ever amount you may need. The third chapter is how to prioritize. When you think of prioritizing you think of what you can do to manage your time. Well it is half about planning your time and the other half would have to be about Reducing Stress on your self when you get down to “crunch time” When all assignments are due you get a little stressed and this helps whit not getting so stressed out.

As me being a learner I think that it is very hard for me to learn when I am not focused on the task at hand. My mind tends to wonder around and get off task very easily. I just wish I was smarter than I am and that when it comes to being book smart I wish I was that person. When it comes to learning I feel that math and just studying period are the hardest things for me to get done. I have really never had that great of math skills and or studying due to the fact that I am kind of lazy. If I was to have to pick on my self I would have to say that I need more time to find for math and studying of my other subjects in college. I hate to study and I feel that I am a visual learner so when I just sit down and study it feels like I don’t comprehend any thing
Some of my strengths as a learner is how I get my tests scores and I hardly study due to the fact that I am always busy and having something to due when it is baseball season. Baseball season seems to last for 365 days a year cause we are always hitting lifting or running. I think I could help someone with the way they interact with the other kids in the class and how they present there self to an audience. I think that I being a social able person could help someone that is shy in the aspect of trying to interact with other people.
A summary of your learning in this class? I really cant remember what we did in the class cause it really wasn’t that interesting to me, but I did like the eye speeding up work we did it, it was very interesting. I also liked the movie we watched about drinking I think that had a great impact on my way I go about drinking now and it will help to understand if one of my friends happens to fall into this state of mind. I have learned that binge drinking isn’t good and that your friends could go to sleep and never wake up. When I heard this story about that girl it made me stop and think about what I have done to put my life at risk, and the thought crossed my mind what my family would do with out me or I would do with out them, and it had an impact on me to where it is hard for me to even be around people that are drinking.

I have a good feeling about this class and at the same time I feel that it did nothing for me. But what I did take out of this class I that I am really serious about the drinking part and that I could stand to let my parents go through what that poor girl’s family went though. What I have taken from this class is about all. When I leave this class I have really only taken one thing out of it and I hope that if someone didn’t get much out of this class I hope that they got this out of it. I really enjoyed this class and hope you had a great time with us in this class.
When taking this course for future students I would have to say don’t be lazy and get the blogs done and don’t wait till the last minute to do your final essay like I am doing. I will learn more to listen to what other people have to say instead of them listening to me I will be more open for other peoples appoint and not be so one sided like I us to be before I took this class.
I wish I would have known that we have to type a lot and that when the teacher says she needs this and this done then she really means that she needs it done. I have made it through the course by just wanting to be interested in the class but in eight weeks I think it was hard to really find an interest in what the teacher was talking about. I am
